Testing, 1, 2, 3…

March 22, 2012

I recently received a request from my mother-in-law. She saw this really neat modular felt trivet and decided she wanted a big one for her kitchen island. That sounds like a good Mothers’ Day Present to me! This is another project from How About Orange. I’m telling you, this girl, Jessica, is fabulous. She made two versions, a coaster and a trivet. I thought I’d test out the smaller, coaster version to see how it worked and how difficult/time consuming it would be. Turns out, pretty easy and fun!

I used some cheap felt I had on hand and experimented with straight and curved lines and mixing colors. What do you think? I think I like the ones that are all one color the most, but I’m not sure… Overall, the project was a success and I’ll be ordering some better quality felt soon to make the big Mothers’ Day runner version. So… stay tuned for that in a month or so!

I love them. I like the curved lines better (unusual for me) and I love the 2 color one. But, if you were to make a larger one for any reason 😉 I think 1 color is the way to go!!!!

Hey, your poll is skewed. There are two options for >1 colors/straight lines and no option for >1 color/curved line. Which happens to be my vote AFTER I accidentally chose the second > 1 color/straight -which has the most votes- thinking that it was >1 color/curve – just saying…..

Oh no! I read it over 3 times too… Sorry! Hopefully everyone made the same mistake as you when voting… Thanks for pointing it out!

These are so pretty – and I definitely think one color, curved lines is the way to go!
