Safari Maxi skirt

July 17, 2012

I was busy at work with my sewing machine again – apparently daydreaming of going on safari. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but this skirt looks like the kind of thing you might wear on safari. Except, of course, that I would never wear a skirt on safari. Only pants with elastic ankles, no snakes or tse-tse flies are creeping up my bottoms. If I happened to be stopping over in a small African town and staying in one of those cool hotels you always see in the movies, that might be a more appropriate place for a skirt. Do they have tse-tse flies in the towns? Hmmm… maybe I’ll just wear this skirt here where my legs are safe.

It’s made with a linen/cotton blend (that may look familiar to a couple readers, but totally out of context). I am so excited, I recently had this ribbon made so I could label my projects! I suppose if I were smart I would have put it on the outside for all to see, but I’m not really one to brag about designer labels… I think I will wear this with a basic tee and some sandals, or maybe a loose fitting sheer button down, tucked in. I guess we’ll see…

I love this skirt – and I especially love the label!
