A Visit from the Gs!

September 2, 2011

This past week Timmy and I had a visit from the Gs – that’s Grandma, Grampy, and Gabby (my cousin). We had fun just hanging out at the house, Gabby is very creative and wanted to make lost of crafty projects. She even used the sewing machine all by herself, and she did great! She made herself a cute little bag to hold her knitting needles and supplies, complete with lots of pockets.

We also went to the Crayola Factory and National Canal Museum in Easton, PA. That is a fun place! They have a bunch of different creation areas to try out all of their arts and crafts products and make creations to take home. Plus they show you how they make the crayons and markers. Here’s a tip – to fix your dried up markers, run the tip under warm water, then replace the cap and leave them to sit for 24 hours. Then they should work again! Also, the National Canal Museum is really cool. You get your own little boat to take through the canal, and learn to work the locks as you go. Perhaps the pre-school will have to take a trip there this year!

It’s always nice to see family from far away!

Melissa, the first think I made when the power went back on was baked chicken, rice, and your grandmother’s plum cake. Oh my goodness, it was delicious. Steven said it “smelled like Christmas.”

Your cousin is beautiful. My girls want to sew with the borrowed machine. We’re buying material today!

I’m happy to hear you tried the plum cake! Have fun sewing!! The girls are lucky to have such a good teacher, I’ve heard about your excellent halloween costumes from when Timmy and Tricia were little!
