A New Adventure

May 23, 2011

Last weekend Timmy took me hiking at the Trexler Nature Preserve. We had fun! I made peanut butter granola bars to take with us, and those alone might have made the whole trip worth it. Try Giada’s recipe at foodnetwork.com. We kind of thought we’d see more animals, since it is a nature preserve, but we did see a couple different groups of white tail deer and lots of birds. Here are some pictures from our hike (I’m getting good with the timer function on the camera!):

I told you it was beautiful, even on a cloudy day!

The Gieger Covered Bridge. It's closed, but we took our lives in our hands and crossed it anyway.

Jordan Creek, behind the guard rail...

Made the peanut butter granola this morning. It is wonderful. Couldn’t wait for it to cool, so we snitched some warm – yum, yum. Thanks for the recommendation and good luck with the squirrels and rabbits. Enjoy the long weekend.
